In general, I think the popular music of today is disposable. Most songs that are popular now you will most likely forget in a month or two, maybe a few weeks from now.

The latest song by Incubus, “Dig”, is not a song you will forget. The lyrics are among the most thought provoking in music today and might even make you shed a tear. The video might seem a bit odd to you at first but if you listen closely to the lyrics, the video does make sense, eventually.

Sharp-Dressed Man

Saturday night, Bill and I went to a black-tie event located near the Empire State Building. I was wearing my LBD (little black dress) and Bill was wearing a tuxedo. The party itself was okay, there were nice views of the Empire State Building, nice music to dance to (except that no one was dancing!!), drinks, and desserts. Bill and I were probably the oldest people at the event. We also had entertainment by way of Chicago City Limits; after a couple of hours there, we left and went to Avi & David’s for real food.

Bill looked so sex-ay in his tux, and it made me think of this song by ZZ Top. Yes, every girl’s crazy about a sharp-dressed man.

Song of The Day

The Spice Girls have reunited and are set to tour this year. To my shock, people will pay big bucks to see them, as shown by how quickly tickets sold out in England (38 seconds?!?!). I don’t think I will be one of those people, unless Live Nation/Ticketmaster has a good promotion or I get a good deal from Craigslist.

I first heard this song of the day from the Perez Hilton website, of all places. It is from Mel C, the one spice girl who could actually carry a tune. She had a couple of big hits in the US, remember “I Turn To You”? Anyway, this is a video of her new song “This Time”.

I am happy to report that I am seeing Morrissey in two weeks at the Hammerstein Ballroom and the best part is I got discounted tickets. I hope he performs this song:
